Print Production Manager

DESCRIPTION

The Production Manager is the team lead for Cassel’s Print Production department. Anticipated time breakdown as follows: 30% personnel management, 30% front line production, 30% systems development/maintenance, 10% cross-functional collaboration. Handle all personnel concerns while adhering to Cassel’s managerial process and tools. Create accountability structures related to throughput and overall productivity. Develop efficiencies within the production team while working across other departments to deliver on Cassel’s mission – Making Vehicle Graphics Easy.

EXPECTATIONS

Team Manager/Personnel Development

  1. LMA (Lead, Manage, Accountability) for a 3-4 person production team.
  2. Execution of Cassel’s managerial process (we run on EOS)
    1. Quarterly Conversations
    2. Monthly 1:1
    3. S.M.A.R.T. Goal Setting
    4. Lead weekly team meetings
  3. Departmental representative on Cassel’s Operational Management Team – production spokesperson to the rest of the company.
  4. Create and establish quantitative accountability metrics relative to individual performance and team output.
  5. Oversee the training and development of production team members as well as the managing the efficient allocation of personnel.

Production Expert

  1. Master all production systems, technology, software, and processes (able to run all machines when needed).
  2. Responsible for Quality Assurance (done correctly, to spec, on time) for all work completed out of the production department.
  3. Workflow management and the development of best practices/SOP’s for all key functions of production.
  4. Work as the team pacesetter, making sure the team operates efficiently, stays on task, and limits avoidable mistakes.
  5. Stay in tune with industry updates and recommend enhancements that increase production efficiency.

Systems Development and Administration

  1. Serve as the subject matter expert and lead the implementation of a revitalized production calendar in ShopVox (project management software of record).
  2. Oversee the activation and utilization of ONYX printing software (the hub, maintenance, continuing education).
  3. Drive efficiencies into the production team through the adoption of new technologies and maximizing the effectiveness of current ones.
  4. Build and maintain strong third party relationships with vendors in the areas of technology, equipment maintenance, and materials supply.

Color & Material Management

  1. Attend SGIA color bootcamp
  2. Master creation of color profiles and continuing maintenance and calibration
  3. Cassel’s company subject matter expert for all things color related.
  4. Ensure color profile client log and color replacement table are up to date.
  5. Keep healthy inventories of all key materials and establish a material ordering process that maintains appropriate safety stack during known supply shortages.

EXPERIENCE
  • 4-year degree preferred. Some post-secondary education/certificate required. Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Experience in the field of print production or operational management preferred.
