JOB SUMMARY:

Cassel is seeking an organized and detailed individual to take on the position of Prepress Technician at our vehicle graphics company. As a Prepress Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and efficient preparation of the vehicle, sign, and decal graphic designs for print production. Your expertise in prepress operations, graphic design software, and attention to detail will contribute to the high-quality output of our production department. The role reports to Cassel’s Director of Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor and manage prepress deadlines, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with team members to ensure timely delivery of high-quality prepared files.
  • Prepared artwork files for printing by performing necessary preflight checks, such as resolution, color profiles, bleed, and trim.
  • Utilize graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, to perform prepress tasks, including color correction and file optimization.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in file formats, layout, fonts, and color schemes, adhering to brand guidelines and client requirements.
  • Manage the print production workflow, including file organization, archiving, and version control to maintain an efficient and organized system.
  • Stay updated on emerging prepress technologies, software advancements, and industry best practices, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to spot errors, and inconsistencies. and quality issues in design files. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during the prepress or printing process.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, communicate effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma/GED required, some post-secondary education preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Illustrator.
  • Familiarity with large-format printing, vehicle graphics, and related materials is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding and uses of color spaces (CMYK, RGB, LAB, Spot Colors)
  • General understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Calendar, etc.)
